Two Joshua Tree residents were arrested Thursday after they were found with stolen property. According to a Sheriff’s report, on Thursday morning, a burglary victim found some of his stolen belongings alongside an RV that was parked on Sunny Sand Drive near Sunset Road in Joshua Tree and notified Sheriff’s deputies. Deputies went to the RV, but the occupants refused to open the door. When deputies returned with a search warrant about 11:30 a.m., Kevin Cruz, 46, fled the RV and ran to a nearby off-road vehicle. Unfortunately for Cruz, the ORV wouldn’t start, and deputies took him into custody. Deputies then entered the RV and detained Kristie Ragsdale, 39. Evidence at the scene linked Cruz to the burglary. Deputies returned the stolen property to the victim, and arrested Kevin Cruz for investigation of burglary, and on a warrant for driving under the influence and on a felony no-bail warrant for possession of stolen property and booked him into the West Valley Detention Center. Kristie Ragsdale was arrested on a $50,000 warrant for possession of stolen property and booked into the Morongo Basin Jail.
