TWO JOSHUA TREE RESIDENTS ACCUSED OF CONSPIRACY

Two Joshua Tree residents were arrested Thursday following an investigation into another case. Deputies made a traffic stop about 3:45 a.m. near Highway 62 and Encelia Avenue in Twentynine Palms for an ongoing investigation for a vehicle theft investigation. Inside the vehicle were Jesus Lopez, 44, and Lillian Wilson, 33. Jesus Lopez was arrested on suspicion of conspiracy to commit a crime, vehicle theft, and being an accessory to a crime and was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail with his bail set at $25,000. Lillian Wilson was arrested for investigation of conspiracy and vehicle theft and was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with her bail set at $25,000. They were both released within hours of their arrest.
