A woman and her young daughter were injured in a crash on Highway 62 in Twentynine Palms Tuesday morning. About 8:40 a.m., first responders were called to the area of Panorama Avenue and the highway. Witnesses said a Chevrolet Avalanche driven by a 31-year-old female resident of Twentynine Palms turned left from Panorama Avenue in front of a Dodge Ram traveling east on Twentynine Palms Highway, resulting in the Chevrolet being T-boned by the Ram. Firefighters had to extricate the 31-year-old woman and her 1-year-old daughter child from the Chevy truck. The woman sustained major injuries; she was transported by ambulance to Hi-Desert Medical Center and then flown by helicopter to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs. Her daughter received minor injuries and was flown to Loma Linda University Children’s Hospital. An occupant in the other truck declined medical aid. Traffic was diverted onto side streets around the crash.
