TWO INJURED IN ROLLOVER CRASH IN MORONGO VALLEY SUNDAY

Two people were injured, one seriously, during a single-vehicle rollover crash in Morongo Valley Sunday. Morongo Valley Fire Engineer Andrew Behrens said that shortly before 7 p.m., rescue personnel were called to a crash in the eastbound lane of Highway 62, just east of Sundown Trail. A Ford Focus had lost control and rolled over, landing in the desert about 50 feet south of the highway. Behrens said the male passenger was out of the vehicle when they arrived, but they had to use the Jaws of Life to extricate the female driver. The woman was taken to Desert Hospital with critical injuries; the male passenger was also taken to Desert Hospital with moderate injuries. The California Highway Patrol is investigating.
