MORONGO VALLEY CRASH INJURES TWO THURSDAY

Two people were injured, one critically, in a car crash in Morongo Valley Thursday afternoon. California Highway Patrol officers were called to the intersection of Highway 62 and Senilis Avenue in Morongo Valley at 12:58 p.m. where a pick-up truck and another vehicle had crashed. The female driver of the truck was pinned under the truck and firefighters had to lift the truck to get to her. The male driver of the other vehicle was also injured. Both victims were transported by Morongo Basin Ambulance to Desert Regional Medical Center in Palm Springs. The westbound lanes of the highway were closed for about one hour; eastbound lanes were also closed for about 15 minutes, and traffic was diverted around the scene. The CHP is investigating.
