TWO INJURED CRASHING INTO YUCCA VALLEY LIGHT POLE

Two Twentynine Palms residents were injured when their vehicle crashed into a light pole in Yucca Valley Wednesday night. According to the Sheriff’s Department, Aijon Carrllo, 21, was driving eastbound on Highway 62 about 9:10 p.m. when he fell asleep at the wheel just west of the intersection at Elk Trail. His vehicle hit a light pole which was completely ripped out of the ground. His vehicle continued on past the pole and hit a fence in front of Diamond Automotive and caused minor damage to three customer vehicles that were being serviced. Aijon Carrlo and his passenger, Heidi Romo, 20, were taken to Hi-Desert Medical Center for treatment of minor injuries. The owner of Diamond Automotive was notified of the damage to his property and his customers’ vehicles.
