TWO DESERT HOT SPRINGS MEN, FOUND IN STOLEN CAR, ARRESTED

Two Desert Hot Springs men were arrested Thursday, after they were found in a stolen vehicle. According to a Sheriff’s report, about 2:50 p.m. a deputy spotted a 2000 Honda Civic driving on Highway 62 near Desert Willow Trail in Morongo Valley. The deputy determined the car had been stolen in the city of San Jacinto. The deputy followed the vehicle into Desert Hot Springs and, with the assistance of an officer from the Desert Hot Springs police department, stopped the car near Indian Canyon Drive and Mission Lakes Boulevard. The driver, Marco Mayorga, 25, was arrested for possession of a stolen vehicle, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $50,000. The passenger, Omar Marquez, 24, was arrested on suspicion of possession of drug paraphernalia, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, cited and released.
