Two people were arrested following a domestic dispute that led to an alleged stabbing and resisting arrest. According to a Sheriff’s report, Gabriel Maldonado, 23, was at the Rite-Aid store in the 72200 block of 29 Palms Highway in Twentynine Palms about 7:40 a.m. claiming that Antonia Amaro, 25, had stabbed him on the left side of his stomach. Store clerks told deputies that Maldonado was extremely angry when they would not give him a band aid for his wound, described as “good-sized.” Maldonado was transported to Desert Hospital in Palm Springs. Deputies went to a home in the 6900 block of 49 Palms Avenue where they arrested Antonia Amaro for investigation of corporal injury on a spouse, booked her into the Morongo Basin Jail, with her bail set at $50,000. Gabriel Maldonado was also arrested for resisting an executive officer, booked at the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $50,000.
