Two Yucca Valley residents were arrested Wednesday afternoon when they were found with a gun that had its serial number filed off. According to a Sheriff’s report, an absentee homeowner in the 58100 block of Pueblo Trail in Yucca Valley asked for a check on her home. When deputies arrived shortly before 1 p.m., they found two people inside the home, Mark Villegas, 33, and Marisela Lazo, 40. Deputies also discovered a firearm on which the serial number had been ground down. Mark Villegas and Marisela Lazo were arrested on suspicion of altering a firearm, and on $5,000 warrants for resisting arrest, booked at the Morongo Basin Jail, with their bail set at $25,000.
