Two men were arrested Saturday, accused of stealing power for an illegal marijuana grow. An alert neighbor in the 58600 block of La Brisa Drive in the Yucca Mesa neighborhood of Yucca Valley spotted two men drive up to a residence about 10:30 a.m., put a ladder up against the fence, and use the ladder enter the yard. When the deputy arrived, Albert Rodriguez, 59, and Leonel Rodriguez, 26, were seen leaving the home. Deputies located an electrical bypass that diverted power from the main panel to a large panel without a meter inside the house. Deputies secured a search warrant, and a search of the home found that the stolen electricity was being used to facilitate growing more than 1,500 marijuana plants inside. Albert Rodriguez and Leonel Rodriguez were arrested on suspicion of utilities theft, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with their bail set at $350,000.
