TWO ARRESTED FOR DRUG USE IN TWENTYNINE PALMS

Two people were arrested early Wednesday morning, accused of being high on drugs. According to a Sheriff’s report, a deputy made a vehicle check near the intersection of Adobe Road and Highway 62 about 3 a.m. Inside the vehicle were April Dunlap, 29, of Apple Valley, and Sam Smith, 48, of Twentynine Palms, whom the deputy stated appeared to be under the influence of a controlled substance. The deputy found drug paraphernalia in Dunlap’s possession. April Dunlap was arrested for investigation of possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of methamphetamine, cited and released. Sam Smith was arrested for being under the influence of a controlled substance, and for $55,000 in felony and misdemeanor drug warrants, and was arraigned in court Thursday.
