Two men were arrested in Morongo Valley Wednesday, after deputies found drugs in their possession. According to Sheriff’s Sergeant Rick Millard, deputies were on a follow-up investigation and went to a home in the 49300 block of Senilis Avenue about 9:30 p.m. Wednesday evening. A car pulled in behind the patrol car, and a deputy saw the passenger, Parry Bunts, 26, hide something in the front seat. Bunts was taken out of the car, handcuffed, and seated on a curb. Bunts tried to run—still handcuffed—but was quickly caught; he was slightly injured during his apprehension. During a search of the car, deputies found suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. Parry Bunts was arrested for investigation of possession of a dangerous drug. The driver of the vehicle, Erik Edwards, 35, was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence and possession of a dangerous drug. They were both booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with their bail set at $25,000 each.
