TWO ARRESTED AFTER ATTEMPTED BURGLARY AT WAL-MART

An Apple Valley father and son were arrested after they allegedly tried to steal hundreds of dollars of merchandise from Wal-Mart Friday evening. According to a Sheriff’s report, about 8:30 p.m., Richard Anderson Sr., 49, was seen concealing more than $500 worth of electronic equipment inside a box for a shop vacuum worth $50. Deputies located Anderson’s son, Richard Anderson Jr., 18, outside, waiting in a truck. The deputy searched the truck and found methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia. The deputy determined that the Andersons had $16 and change between them. Both Richard Anderson Jr. and Richard Anderson Sr. were arrested for investigation of burglary and possession of methamphetamine. They were booked at the Morongo Basin Jail and released on $25,000 bail Saturday night.
