TWO ARRESTED AT GUNPOINT AFTER A TWENTYNINE PALMS ARMED ROBBERY

Two Las Vegas men who are suspected of robbing a Twentynine Palms gas station were arrested at gunpoint early this morning. According to Sheriff’s Deputy Armando Cantu, two men, later identified as Milton Fletcher, 24, and Cedric Russum, 28, walked into the Circle K at Adobe Road and Two Mile Road at 2:45 a.m. this morning and demanded that the clerk give them the money out of the cash register. The men kept their hands in the pockets of their black hooded sweatshirts, and the clerk believed they had weapons concealed under their hoodies and feared for her safety. After giving the men an undisclosed amount of cash, the men fled northbound in a white compact vehicle, observed by a delivery driver. Sheriff’s Sergeant Matt Yost saw the vehicle traveling eastbound on Amboy Road, called for back-up, and began pursuit. Yost, Cantu, and Deputy Chris Bingham stopped the vehicle at Amboy Road and Pinto Mountain Road and arrested Milton Fletcher and Cedric Russum at gunpoint for investigation of robbery. Deputies located evidence and cash in the vehicle. Both Fletcher and Rossum were booked at the Morongo Basin Jail with their bail set at $100,000 each.
