Two people were arrested Monday night following a brawl in Twentynine Palms that injured a Sheriff’s deputy. According to Sheriff’s reports, deputies were called to the Hacienda Mobile Home Park in the 4500 block of Adobe Road about 8:45 p.m. because onlookers were afraid a fight was about to break out. When deputies arrived, they were immediately confronted by Jessie Salcido, 50, who challenged the deputies to a fight, and who told them he was armed with a gun. The report states that a deputy was punched by Salcido several times as he was taken into custody, and the deputy sustained minor injuries. According to the report, the crowd became unruly, and Amelia Salcido, 55, tried to prevent deputies from taking Jessie Salcido into custody. Jessie Salcido was arrested for investigation of felony assault on a deputy, taken to Hi-Desert Medical Center to be treated for minor injuries, and then booked at the Morongo Basin Jail, with his bail set at $50,000. Amelia Salcido was arrested on suspicion of misdemeanor obstructing deputies, booked at the Morongo Basin Jail, and released Tuesday morning.
