A report of shots fired in Landers led to the arrest of two people Sunday night. According to a Sheriff’s report, deputies were called to the 600 block of North Phillips Road about 10:10 after neighbors reported hearing gunshots. During the investigation, deputies contacted Brian Watson, 39, who told them he had shot at a rattlesnake. While deputies were talking with Watson, they saw a woman, later identified as Sinthya Salinas, 38, run out the back door of the house to a shed in the back yard carrying a black case. Deputies found methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia in the case, and a 12-gauge shotgun and .32-caliber revolver were found in the shed. The revolver was determined to be stolen out of Michigan. Brian Watson and Sinthya Salinas were both arrested for investigation of possession of a controlled substance and possession of stolen property. They were booked into the Morongo Basin Jail with their bail set at $50,000 each.
