Two people were arrested Tuesday (February 22) following a Sheriff’s vehicle pursuit in Twentynine Palms. According to a Sheriff’s Department press release, a deputy was traveling on Twentynine Palms Highway just before 3 p.m. when they observed a vehicle with a traffic violation. When attempting a traffic stop, the suspect vehicle reportedly failed to yield, initiating a pursuit that lasted several minutes and traveled at dangerous speeds for several miles. The pursuit came to an end when the suspect vehicle became disabled on a dirt road near Lear Avenue and two suspects fled the vehicle on foot. Both were captured and detained near the scene. Sheriff deputies said that the driver, identified as Cameron Boyd, 42 of Yucca Valley, was placed under arrest for investigation of felony failure to yield. The passenger, identified as Venessa Ollman, 37 of Joshua Tree, was allegedly found to have several warrants for her arrest and arrested for investigation of being a fugitive. Cameron Boyd was booked into the West Valley Detention Center with his bail set at $100,000. Venessa Ollman was booked into the West Valley Detention Center with a no-bail hold by U.S. Marshalls.
