Two men were arrested Friday, accused of jumping a man and beating him up. According to a Sheriff’s report, a woman went to the 55500 block of Santa Fe Trail in Yucca Valley in the early morning hours Friday to get her two children, who were staying with their father. An argument ensued between the parents. The woman left and called two male friends, Jerad Mayhood, 20, and Jaden Derry, 22, to help her. They returned to the house about 2:30 a.m. and the woman started banging on the windows and calling her son’s name. The boy woke up in a panic crying for his mother. When his father opened the front door, he was allegedly jumped by Mayhood and Derry, who attacked him. He suffered multiple cuts and bruises and pain to his back and neck. The woman then took her children and left with Mayhood and Derry. Deputies were able to locate her vehicle with the men and children inside near Elk and Pueblo Trails. Jerad Mayhood and Jaden Derry were arrested for investigation of battery causing serious injury, booked into West Valley Detention Center, with their bail set at $100,000 each.
