TWO ACCUSED OF SPOUSE ABUSE IN SEPARATE INCIDENTS

Two Morongo Basin residents were arrested Sunday, accused of spouse abuse. Sheriff’s deputies were called to the 6500 block of Ocotillo Avenue in Twentynine Palms about 9:15 a.m. Sunday for a report that a man, later identified as Darren Tolbert, had grabbed a woman by the hair and punched her in the head three times. After an investigation, Darren Tolbert, was arrested on suspicion of felony spouse abuse, booked into the Morongo Valley Jail, with his bail set at $50,000.

And just before midnight Sunday, Sheriff’s deputies were called to the 11100 block of Hess Boulevard in Morongo Valley. The victim told deputies
that he and his girlfriend, Casey Miller, 31, were arguing because he hadn’t answered his phone. The argument escalated and Miller allegedly punched
the victim in the face and mouth several times. Casey Miller was arrested for investigation of felony spouse abuse, booked into the Morongo Basin
Jail, with her bail set at $50,000.
