The Twentynine Palms woman who was accused of trying to kill herself and her two daughters by crashing her car earlier this month pleaded guilty last week. Sheriff’s investigators say that Cindy Vang, 31, drove away from her home on the Marine Corps base about 6:30 a.m. with her 6-year-old and 9-year-old daughters. After she left the base, she tried to intentionally kill herself and her two children by crashing her car at a high rate of speed on Morongo Road near Raymond Way in Twentynine Palms. Vang and her 6-year-old daughter were rendered unconscious in the crash; the 9-year-old called 911 about 7 a.m. to report the crash. Vang and the younger girl were taken to a local hospital for evaluation; the daughter was later released to her father. Cindy Vang pleaded guilty October 10 in a Joshua Tree courtroom to two counts of attempted murder and two counts of child abuse, with enhancements for gross bodily injury. She is scheduled to be sentenced October 22.
