TWENTYNINE PALMS WOMAN KILLED IN SINGLE CAR ROLLOVER EAST OF TWENTYNINE PALMS

A Twentynine Palms Woman was killed and a passenger injured in a single-car rollover crash on State Route 62 east of Twentynine Palms yesterday afternoon. According to the County Coroner, at 2:31 p.m. on Sunday, June 12, the California Highway Patrol received a 911 call reporting a single-vehicle rollover on Highway 62 near mile marker 104. Emergency personnel arrived and found Sally Jo Hodges, a 68-year- old resident Twentynine Palms, dead. Hodges was driving her 2000 Isuzu Trooper westbound on Highway 62 when she drifted off the roadway, overcorrected onto the roadway, and then skidded off the road. The vehicle rolled over an unknown number of times coming to rest on the driver’s side. Hodges was still seat belted in the driver’s seat when help arrived. The front seat passenger, who was not identified, was flown to Havasu Regional Medical Center for treatment. The California Highway Patrol is investigating the incident.
