A Twentynine Palms woman was arrested late Wednesday night,accused of driving into a power pole and fleeing the scene. According to Sheriff’s reports, Kirsten Cooper, 23, crashed her white Dodge car into a power pole in the alley behind the Budget Motel on Deer Trail and Santa Fe Trail, about 10 p.m. A bystander checked on Cooper, who said she was OK. She then proceeded to push her car to a residence in the 55800 block of Santa Fe Trail, where she was arrested for investigation of driving under the influence. Kirsten Cooper was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail and released about 9 a.m. Thursday. The power pole was repaired by Southern California Edison.
