TWENTYNINE PALMS WOMAN ARRESTED AFTER A VIOLENT BEATING

A Twentynine Palms woman was arrested Tuesday, accused of beating up another woman. Deputies were called to the 3100 block of Monte Vista Street in Twentynine Palms about 4:30 p.m. because Jocelyn Venegas was fighting with another woman. Deputies say that Venegas had gone over to the home to collect her belongings; she jumped the fence and then started arguing with a woman at the home. The victim told deputies that Venegas grabbed a child’s toy piano and used it to hit her in the face, rendering her unconscious and giving her a possible broken nose. The male resident then walked in to find Venegas standing over the victim, punching her in the face, and pulled her off the victim. Venegas then left the scene, but deputies tracked her down at her home in the 71800 block of El Paseo in Twentynine Palms. Jocelyn Venegas was arrested for investigation of felony battery, booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, with her bail set at $100,000.
