TWENTYNINE PALMS WOMAN ACCUSED OF STRONG-ARM ROBBERY AND CARJACKING

A Twentynine Palms woman was arrested for investigation of strong-arm robbery and carjacking Monday, after deputies said she forced her way into another woman’s car. About 2:50 p.m., a woman called deputies to say that a woman, later identified as Anita Hodge, 31, had forced herself into her car on Adobe Road in Twentynine Palms and made her drive to the casino on Baseline Road. During the drive there, she said Hodge stole her phone so she couldn’t call for help, and then tried to push her out of her car while she was driving. Deputies located Hodge at the casino where she was detained without incident. Anita Hodge was arrested on suspicion of robbery and carjacking, booked into the West Valley Detention Center, with her bail set at $250,000.
