TWENTYNINE PALMS WOMAN ACCUSED OF DRIVING WHILE HIGH

A Twentynine Palms woman was arrested Friday, October 2, after deputies determined she was driving while high on drugs. About 8:30 p.m., deputies made a traffic stop near Utah Trail and Alta Loma Drive in Twentynine Palms. The driver, Alena Hanschild-Brohamer, 21, showed signs of being under the influence of a controlled substance. Deputies located suspected methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia inside her vehicle. Alena Hanschild-Brohamer was arrested for investigation of driving under the influence of a controlled substance, operating a motor vehicle while being addicted to drugs, possession of a controlled substance, and possession of drug paraphernalia. She was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail, cited, and released.
