More than 400 visitors ooh’d and ahh’d over 167 entries submitted by 47 people at the delightfully quirky 77th annual Weed Show, hosted this past weekend by the Twentynine Palms Historical Society at the Old Schoolhouse Museum. The theme this year was “Colorful Characters,” and each entry matched a theme for the 12 categories named after former residents of Twentynine Palms.
First place winners were Cathy Snodgrass, Marilyn Fernauld, Pam Anders (who won in two categories), Kate Brandt, Bridget Wilcox, Ted Myers (who also won in two categories), Larraine Turk, Marina McClay, Ryan Ford, and Becky Slane. Winners of the Judge’s Favorite were Larry Bowden, Bridget Wilcox, and Becky Slane. The People’s Choice Award went to Larry Bowden. A complete list of winners is listed below:
