At tonight’s meeting of the Twentynine Palms Water District, the board is considering awarding an almost $70,000 contract to rehabilitate Well number 12. Maintenance of that well is a high priority since the district has three wells offline, reducing capacity 14 percent. Wells number 4 and number 9 are offline due to excessive levels of chromium-6, and well number 11 was permanently closed in November when the costs to make needed repairs could not be financially justified. In other business, the board will review the district’s investment policy and valve maintenance program. Those items and others are in addition to regular reports and routine items on the consent agenda. Tonight’s meeting begins at 6 p.m. at the District Office on the south side of Hatch Road in Twentynine Palms.
