The Twentynine Palms Water District will meet in regular session tonight. Reporter Mike Lipsitz says they will start the process of taking a serious look at wastewater treatment and pay against some unfunded retirement debt…
The Twentynine Palms Water District board meets for the regular monthly meeting at 6 p.m. tonight. Two resolutions stand out on tonight’s agenda. The first is the likely approval of a Wastewater Management Plan. This is a general planning tool or starter on the topic of wastewater treatment. It will provide a framework from which the district can begin a more serious look at the size and siting for a future sewage treatment facility. Also tonight, the board will consider transfer of just over $300,000 from an operating account to the California Employer’s Retirement Benefit Trust, that action is part of the district’s ongoing effort to address what was an unfunded retired employee health benefit liability. It all happens at the district office on the south side of Hatch Road in Twentynine Palms.
