The Twentynine Palms Water District meets in special session today at 5 p.m. At this meeting the board will consider how to fill the board vacancy left by the resignation of Chancey Chambers, whose resignation became effective July 27. The board may opt to either call for a special election or appoint a new board member themselves. Chambers’ term, and the term of any appointee, would end December 1, 2017. This was Chambers second term on the board; he has served since 2009.
