The Twentynine Palms Water District Board will hear a report tonight about its fluoride removal treatment plant, a below-ground 200,000 gallon
concrete reservoir. An examination of the reservoir last year found that the interior coated steel braces, which were installed for seismic protection, are corroding. The report recommends removing the steel braces, at a cost of $285,000, but removing the braces would require that the reservoir be shut down for up to two months. With the rest of tonight’s agenda, here’s reporter Andrew Dieleman with the details…
Other items of interest for this week’s meeting of the Twentynine Palms Water District board of directors include a presentation about installing
energy efficient projects at the water district and the consideration of policy, employee manual, and surplus property resolutions. This will be followed by routine items on the consent calendar and management reports. The meeting will take place at 6 p.m. at their district offices at 72401 Hatch Road in Twentynine Palms.
