TWENTYNINE PALMS WATER DISTRICT MEETS TONIGHT, COUNTY FIRE TAKEOVER, CHIEF EVALUATION

At tonight’s meeting of the Twentynine Palms Water District, the Board of Directors is scheduled to authorize the General Manager to deposit and invest district funds, consider the election of a member to the California Specials Districts Association, approve the purchase of a backhoe and a Hydro-Pneumatic Tank, and approve attendance for one of its members to a legal seminar in Palm Springs in September. After hearing operations and finance reports, the Board will turn to Fire Department business. The first and chief item of discussion will be how to proceed with divestiture of fire services to the County. A performance evaluation of the fire chief will follow during a closed session at the end of the meeting. The meeting starts at 6 p.m. in Water District headquarters at 72401 Hatch Road.
