When the Twentynine Palms Water District meets at 6 p.m. tonight, directors are expected to consider amending this fiscal year’s budget with some equipment costs and decide on attendance at some upcoming water conferences. Then following management reports, the board will take up fire department business beginning with a closed session on anticipated litigation after which directors are expected to pass a resolution making official their request that the Local Agency Formation Commission begin the process for reorganizing the fire department and placing it under the jurisdiction of the County Fire Protection District. Tonight’s water and fire meetings will be preceded by a 5:30 annual meeting of the Twentynine Palms Water District Financing Corporation at which time officer elections will take place. It all happens at the district office on the south side of Hatch Road in Twentynine Palms.
