TWENTYNINE PALMS WATER BOARD PROPOSES 15% WATER RATE INCREASE

0

The Twentynine Palms Water District met last night and proposed a 15 percent increase in water rates over the next five years for their customers. The board said the raise is necessary due to costs of chromium-6 and the current and future maintenance for the Water District and inflation increases. The plan will see a 3-percent increase each year for the next five years. At that time, the Board will reevaluate the effectiveness of the rate increase. The earliest time the rate increase can be implemented is in April. There will be a public hearing on the subject in March.
