TWENTYNINE PALMS WATER BOARD MET LAST NIGHT

Last night, the Twentynine Palms Water District Board met for their regular monthly meetings on both Water and Fire business. On the Fire Department side, the results from a survey conducted by the Lew Edwards Group on whether or not the community supported a tax increase were given. Overall, about two thirds of the people surveyed said they were likely to vote yes for a tax increase. However, these numbers are not high enough to ensure that the measure would get passed when brought to a vote so the Directors don’t see this issue being on a ballot anytime soon. They want to spend more time educating the public. On the Water District side, the Directors discovered they may face new issues with strict water conservation laws that could soon be passed by the State Water Resources Control Board. More information will be given on that in the next few months.
