The Twentynine Palms Water District board, from left: Chair Carol Giannini; Bob Coghill; Suzi Horn; Randy Leazer; Neal Stephenson discuss water meters at Thursday’s meeting.

At yesterday’s meeting, the board unanimously approved a report on the drilling and test pumping of well TP-2, completed on October 21, also authorizing the general manager to proceed with filing a ‘notice of completion’ with the county. A standard maintenance report reflected continued progress in the infrastructure needed for conversion to ‘drive by meter reading’ with nearly 4500 meters already on line. Routine departmental reports showed water quality and finances are tracking as normal. General Manager Ray Kolisz reported on his recent visit to Sacramento advocating for more effective distribution of regional funding. Also at the October American Water Works national conference held in Texas, Kolisz shared that Twentynine Palms was commended for its approach in using activated aluminum to remove impurities from the water.
