Cross town high school sports rivalries came to a head last weekend, as a number of teams from two local high schools played each other in an attempt to grab local glory for the season.
Last week, teams from Twentynine Palms High School Wildcats faced off with teams from Yucca Valley High School Trojans in soccer and basketball, with both teams being members of the Desert Valley League.
On Friday night (December 9), Yucca Valley High School girls basketball bested Twentynine Palms High School girls basketball, with a final score of 67-35
Also on Friday night, the boys basketball teams played, with the Yucca Valley High School securing the victory against Twentynine Palms with a final score of 84-45.
The girls soccer teams played Friday night, with Yucca Valley’s girls teams winning over Twentynine Palms, with a final score of 6-0 in varsity, and 3-1 junior varsity.
The boys soccer teams also played on Friday, with the varsity team from Yucca Valley High School taking a win over Twentynine Palms High School in a game that ended 6-0.
