TWENTYNINE PALMS VOLLEYBALL TEAMS SWEEP CATHEDRAL CITY

The Twentynine Palms High School Ladycat volleyball teams swept the Cathedral City Lions Tuesday night. The varsity Ladycats won 25-20, 25-17 and 25-19. Junior varsity won 25-8 and 25-23. The varsity Ladycats played their last league home game where their senior players were honored. Coach Melissa McGivern said Sadi Rantzow had two kills. Mya Chacon had three kills. Gianna Bilderain had four kills. Senior Cassandra Walti had three assists and played solid defense. Journey Platzke had three ace serves, one kill, seven assists. Senior Jhordan Stanley had two ace serves and four kills. Senior Amanda Mohn had one ace, four kills and 11 assists. Senior Riley King led the team with seven kills, and had one solo block. Alana Gutierrez and Hailee Jenkins held the back row down. The Ladycats are now 9-4 in league.

In the junior varsity game, Jadyn Bauer and Leah Engesser each had a kill. Maniah Timu had two kills. Itzel Solorio had one kill and two ace serves. Bella Salcido served up three aces. Gabby Wunderlee had one ace serve and three assists. N’Taiya Youso had one assist, one ace, and one kill. Zemira Mosqueda had two assists, two ace serves and two kills.
