TWENTYNINE PALMS VOLLEYBALL LOSES TO BIG BEAR

The Twentynine Palms High School Ladycats volleyball team hosted the Big Bear Bears Tuesday and came up short for the win, losing in three sets, 10-25, 14-25, 19-25. 

Coach Melissa McGivern said seniors Riley King and Jhordan Stanley each had a kill. Sophomore Mya Chacon had one ace serve and one kill. Amanda Mohn had one ace serve, two kills and three assists. Junior Journey Platzke had one ace serve, two assist and three kills. The Ladycats have a tournament this weekend and then start league play with Banning. McGivern said, “These ladies are working hard and I’m excited to see what the season brings.” 

The junior varsity team also lost in three sets, 25-20, 18-25, 12-15. 

In junior varsity action, Dixie Saunders had one ace serve. Itzel Solorio had two kills. Leah Engesser had three kills. Bella Salcido had one ace and two kills. N’Taiya Youso had four ace serves and two kills. Gabby Wunderlee had five ace serves and one kill and two assists.
