TWENTYNINE PALMS VANDALISM SUSPECT ARRESTED IN YUCCA VALLEY, VICTIM’S FIREARM CONFISCATED

A Twentynine Palms man was arrested and another man had his firearm confiscated in a Yucca Valley vandalism incident Tuesday (September 7). According to Sheriff’s reports, Deputies responded to the 56000 block of Pima Trail in Yucca Valley around 3:30 p.m. for a report that a vehicle had been vandalized and that the victim was armed with a hand gun. Arriving deputies immediately detained the victim, Nathan Neilson, and the suspect, Bryan Raspberry, 28, of Twentynine Palms. During their investigation, Deputies learned that Raspberry intentionally struck the rear passenger side of Nielsen’s white Chevrolet Suburban as he drove by him on Pima Trail, causing approximately $750 in damages. Nielsen exited the vehicle with a semi-automatic handgun, but never pointed it at Raspberry. Deputies confiscated the firearm which was found to be unloaded at the time of the incident. Raspberry was arrested for investigation of vandalism and was booked into the Morongo Basin Jail with his bail set at $25,000. Deputies determined that Nielsen did not have a California concealed weapons permit. The firearm was collected as evidence, pending charges of brandishing a firearm.
