The goal of this canvas is to ensure that all dogs over the age of four months have current rabies vaccinations, licenses, and to inform residents about the benefits of responsible pet ownership. Pet owners can be prepared by having current pet licenses and vaccination records available to avoid possible citations. Canvassers will be able to answer any questions and address any problems that may arise. City licenses can be purchased or renewed at Palms N Paws Animal Shelter at 7086 Bullion Avenue, in Twentynine Palms. The cost for license purchase or renewal range from $18 to $40 per year. Shelter hours are noon to 5 p.m. Tuesday – Friday or Saturday between 11:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.
The cost for licenses is as follows:
- 1 year unaltered – $40.00
- 1 year altered – $25.00
- 1 year senior (unaltered) – $28.00
- 1 year senior (altered) – $18.00
