Twentynine Palms High School swim teams traveled for their meet at Cathedral City to swim against the combined team of Cathedral City Lions and Desert Hot Springs Golden Eagles. The Ladycats won 84-62 and the boys won 80-32. Both girls and boys swam for five CIF Times. The boys added one CIF time, lowered four CIF times and had nine of 11 first-place finishes. The Lady Cats swam eight 1st place finishes, five 2nd and two 3rd place finishes.
For the boys’ swim team:
- Aiden Sullivan lowered his 50-yard free style and swam an automatic CIF time and he reset his record for the third time this season. He also lowered his CIF time in the 100-yard free style.
- Colton Charles finished with a better CIF time in the 100-yard butterfly, resetting his record the second time this season.
- The 200-yard free relay of Colton Charles, Daviahn Thrasher, Georgie Bourikas and Aiden Sullivan bettered their CIF time by taking four seconds off last meet’s time.
- Daviahn Thrasher bettered his CIF time in the 100-yard back stroke.
Other 1st-place finishes were:
- The 200-yard medley relay team of Daviahn Thrasher, Micah Pollnow, Colton Charles and Aiden Sullivan;
- Georgie Bourikas in the 200-yard free style;
- Micah Pollnow in the 200-individual medley;
- Colton Charles in the 100 Breast Stroke.
- 400-yard free style team of Georgie Bourikas, Tavious Thrasher, Moses Williams and Micah Pollnow.
2nd place finishers were:
- Daviahn Thrasher in the 200-yard individual medley;
- Moses Williams swam 50-yard free;
- Georgie Bourikas for the 100-yard free;
- Micah Pollnow in the 500-yard free.
3rd place finishers were:
- Tavious Thrasher in the 200- and 500-yard free;
- Micah Pollnow in the 100-yard breast stroke.
In girls’ swim team action:
Placing 1st in the following events:
- 200-yard medley relay team: Nadia Moreno, Destiny Cisneros, Izzy Pryor and Pez Zuniga;
- Nadia Moreno in the 200-yard free style;
- Izzy Pryor in the 200-yard individual medley and 500-yard free style;
- 50- and 100-yard free style was Pez Zuniga;
- 100-yard butterfly and the 100-yard breast stroke was Destiny Cisner;
- 200-yard free relay team: Izzy Pryor, Destiny Cisneros, Nadia Moreno and Pez Zuniga.
Placing 2nd were:
- Virginia Johnson who swam the 200-yard and 100-yard free style and the 100-yard back stroke.
- Anna Pollnow, 50-free style and 100-yard breast stroke.
Placing 3rd were:
- Anna Pollnow in the 100-yard free style.
- Nadia Moreno in the 100-yard back stroke.
