TWENTYNINE PALMS SWIM TEAM RESULTS

The Twentynine Palms High School swim team traveled to Cathedral City High School to participate in the Desert Valley League meet. Seven high schools came together to see who could swim for CIF times and compete next weekend. At this meet, first- through third-place finishers earn a patch to put on their lettermen’s jackets.

The Wildcat boys won four first-places races and five second-place finishes.

The LadyCats brought home four first-place finishes, three second- and one third-place finishes.

Placing 1st in the following events:

The 200-yard medley relay team of Patricia Zuniga, Destiny Cisneros, Izzy Pryor and Nadia Moreno won with their best time of 2:52.02.

Patricia Zuniga had a personal best (PB) in both the 50-yard and the 100-yard free style with a time of 28.92 and 1:04.22 respectively.

Izzy Pryor brought home her first place and a PB in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:26.34.

Placing 2nd:

Destiny Cisneros in the 200-yard free style with a time of 2:52.02.

Izzy Pryor in the 100-yard butterfly with her time of 1:18.73.

Izzy Pryor, Destiney Cisneros, Nadia Moreno and Patricia Zuniga. Bettered their time in the 200-yard free relay to 2:08.32.

Placing 3rd:

Destiney Cisneros swam a PB in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:35.39.

Other Ladycats with PB were:

Nadia Moreno in the 200-yard and 100-yard free style with a time of 2:53.92 and 1:17.60, respectively.

Anna Pollnow in the 50-yard free style with a time of 43.74 and 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:54.17.

Virginia Johnson swimming her PB in the 100-yard free style and 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:19.50 and 1:47.87 respectively.

Daviahn Thrasher, Colton Charles, Aiden Sullivan and George Bourikas bettered their CIF time in both the 200-yard medley relay and the 200-yard free relay with the time of 1:59.49 and 1:39.80 respectively.

Aiden Sullivan swam a 54.92 in the 100-yard free style.

Daviahn Thrasher swam in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:11.23.

2nd place were:

Colton Charles swam a PB in both the 200-yard free style and the 100-yard butterfly (resetting his high school record for the fourth time this season) with a time of 2:08.37 and 58.49 respectively.

Micah Pollnow in 200-yard individual medley and the 500-yard free style touching the wall with a time of 2:49.30 and 7:02.12 respectively.

Aiden Sullivan in the 50-yard free style with a time of 23.60.

Other Wildcats with PB were:

George Bourikas in the 200-yard free style with a time of 2:28.40.

50-yard free style with PBs were: Daviahn Thrasher time of 26.04; Tavious Thrasher time of 28.84; Moses Williams with a time of 30.65.

Moses Williams in the 100-yard breaststroke with a time of 1:33.56.
