The Sheriff’s Department is investigating a case of strong-armed robbery in Twentynine Palms Wednesday night. A store clerk in the 6300 block of Adobe Road told deputies that about 9:30 p.m., a known transient woman entered the store and tried to buy cigarettes. When the clerk refused, the woman went behind the counter, grabbed a pack of cigarettes, pushed and punched the employee and hit a customer in the face before fleeing the store. The clerk told the deputy that the unknown suspect comes to the store every day, and the entire episode was caught on video.
