The Senior Center in Twentynine Palms offers meals and much, much more. Reporter Dan Stork describes the services offered there…
If you are 60 years old or older and would like to have your lunch prepared occasionally or frequently, the place to go is the Twentynine Palms Senior Center, on Adobe Road across the street from the downtown Fire Department. Lunch is served week days from 11:30 to Noon for a $3 donation per meal. After lunch, the center is open until 5 p.m. and you may stay and visit with friends or neighbors, use the library or take a few books home for reading on a windy day, participate in planned activities, use a computer, play pool, watch TV or just relax in surroundings a little different than home. If you miss the daily menu announcement on KCDZ you can always call 760-367-5780 to see if the meal planned for the day is one you would like to try. The nutrition manager has the monthly menu posted if you stop for a look around. Dinner reservations are required for holiday meals only.
