TWENTYNINE PALMS RESTAURANT ROBBED BY MAN WITH MACHETE

The Sheriff’s Department is asking for the public’s help for information concerning an armed robbery at a Twentynine Palms restaurant early Monday morning. According to Detective Chad Johnson, a man armed with a machete and wearing a camouflage military uniform, hat, and a bandana over his face walked into Castaneda’s Restaurant in the 73600 block of Sun Valley Drive at 3:30 a.m. The suspect walked behind the front counter and took an unknown amount of money from the business. Nobody inside was injured during the robbery. Anyone with information should call the Sheriff’s Department at 760-366-4175.
