Two Twentynine Palms parents were arrested Tuesday, accused of child cruelty. According to a Sheriff’s report, deputies were called to the 6300 block of Smoke Tree Avenue in Twentynine Palms about 7 p.m. July 20, for an unresponsive 4-month-old boy. The baby was taken to the Naval Hospital in Twentynine Palms, and then flown to Loma Linda Children’s Hospital for evaluation. A forensic pediatrican determined that the boy had multiple fractures and suffered from extreme malnutrition. On Tuesday, August 23, Alec Bailey, 20, and Autumn Evers, 24, were arrested for willful cruelty to a child and failure to provide for a child. Alec Bailey and Autumn Evers were booked at the Morongo Basin Jail with their bail set at $100,000 each. The child is in the care of Child Protective Services.
