Two Twentynine Palms residents were arrested Thursday afternoon when deputies found a stolen credit card, driver’s license, and laptop computers in their possession. The credit card had been stolen from a victim’s mailbox and the license had been stolen from a victim while at the Tortoise Rock Casino. According to the Sheriff’s Department, about 4 p.m., deputies stopped a vehicle driven by Marci Brown, 34, for not wearing her seatbelt and for having an expired registration near Sullivan Road and Pine Avenue. Deputies searched the vehicle, and recovered a credit card and a driver’s license that did not belong to Brown or her passenger, Larry Gray, 39. Deputies also discovered two laptop computers that had been reported stolen, one from a business in Twentynine Palms, and the other during a vehicle burglary in Joshua Tree National Park. Larry Gray and Marci Brown were arrested on suspicion of possession of stolen property and booked into the West Valley Detention Center with Gray’s bail set at $25,000, and Brown’s bail set at $10,000.
