Twentynine Palms Planning Commission will discuss updating the Development Code to be more business friendly

The Twentynine Palms Planning Commission will hold their regular meeting tomorrow night at 5:00 p.m.

Ancillary activities, Businesses and Entertainment will be discussed under Public Hearings. According to the current Development Code, every shared business workspace would require a new land use approval which may be too onerous for smaller businesses to get established.

The Planning Commission studied this issue on March 4th, and agreed with Staff that the Development Code should be updated to be more business friendly and to allow for ancillary uses and commercial activities via a simplified process.

There will be a Study Session on the Development code amendment regarding Outdoor dining. Specifically, the setback of outdoor dining areas when adjacent to residentially zoned property, as well as removing language regarding certain streets and requiring the screening of all outdoor material storage.

Located at 6136 Adobe Road, the Twentynine Palms Planning Commission meeting will begin at 5:00 p.m. The Public is most welcome to attend.
