The Twentynine Palms Planning Commission meets tonight in regular session. A new chair and vice-chair will be selected. Among items of interest, commissioners will hold public hearings on a variety of business before them. They will take public input into a change to the heights of detached garages and carports and whether to allow the use of a metal container by the Family Fitness Center, then issuing a conditional use permit. Input will also be taken on an application to install a 5×8 electronic sign at the First Assembly of God Church on Sullivan Road and on an amendment to the development code to exempt off-street parking requirements in the downtown area. That meeting starts at 5:00 p.m. at City Hall on Adobe Road.
