A permit to sell alcohol at the Dollar General is up for consideration by the Twentynine Palms Planning Commission. Reporter Dan Stork has the whole agenda…
The Twentynine Palms Planning Commission will hold a public hearing on a Conditional Use Permit application to allow the sale of alcoholic beverages at the new Dollar General store on Twentynine Palms Highway. Although the city as a whole is technically has an “over-concentration” of places that sell alcohol, the census tract in which the store lies does not, and no special actions are needed to support the granting of a permit. This will be followed by the 23rd study session on the revision and update of the Development Code. Seven chapters of the code are scheduled for final review at this meeting. Twenty-two chapters have yet to be considered by the Commission. The Commission meets at 6 p.m. in council chambers in City Hall on Adobe Road.
